Fabrice Grinda says he never intended to run a venture firm. He just really (really) enjoyed angel investing. In fact, by late 2013, when he was on the verge of selling the global classifieds marketplace OLX — his third business — he says he had already written checks to more than 150 startups with his longtime friend and OLX cofounder Alec Oxenford. “We’d been working together forever. It was really a family office that was angel investing at a massive scale,” Grinda recalls.

Walmart readies another $2.5 billion investment in India’s e-commerce and payments

Walmart is preparing to spend over $2.5 billion in India as the retailer doubles down on the opportunities it sees in India’s e-commerce and payments markets even as the firm contends with rising costs amid the market downturns.

Walmart spent about $780 million earlier this month to the Indian tax authorities after PhonePe, in which the retailer owns a majority stake, moved its domicile to India from Singapore. Walmart is also looking to invest between $200 million to $300 million in PhonePe’s ongoing funding round, according to a source familiar with the matter. (PhonePe declined to comment.)

Six on-chain metrics suggesting Bitcoin is a 'generational buying opportunity'

Six tried and tested on-chain metrics are repeating patterns last seen at the bottom of the past three bear markets.

Several on-chain metrics from the Bitcoin (BTC) network are flashing buy signals following this year’s rally.

Bitcoin has broken out of its torpor to notch up a 37% gain since the beginning of 2023. However, on-chain data is still signaling it could be a “generational buying opportunity” according to analysts.

On Jan. 24, researcher and technical analyst “Game of Trades” identified six on-chain metrics for his 71,000 Twitter followers.

The first metric is an accumulation trend score highlighting zones of heavy accumulation in terms of entity size and the number of coins bought.

“Large entities have been in deep accumulation mode ever since the FTX collapse,” the analyst noted before adding “similar accumulation took place in the 2018 and 2020 bottoms.”

Moderna Millions: How the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Company Profited from the ‘Covid’ Fake Vaccine through Corruption & Fraud

The story begins 13 to 14 years ago, with the formation of a company called Theleme. One of the co-founders of Theleme is a man named Rishi Sunak. Who just so happens to now be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The company quickly made a “wise” investment, putting millions of dollars into a small biotech firm called Modern.

At the time, Moderna only had a handful of employees, but Theleme apparently saw the potential for growth.

Years passed, and the UK government suddenly found itself in need of a reliable Covid-19 vaccine whilst Sunak was Chancelor of the Exchequer.

When Moderna claimed that its vaccine candidate was 94.5% effective, the government immediately struck a deal to purchase 5 million doses.

As time passed, Theleme’s investment in Moderna continued to pay off.

  • Who will be affected most?
  • Business sectors and price-sensitivity
  • Why now?
  • How Singapore compares with other countries
  • Come Jan. 1, Singapore will raise its goods and services tax, otherwise known as the GST, from 7% to 8%. It’s the first of two scheduled hikes of the GST, with the second slated to take place in January 2024, when the GST will be raised from 8% to 9%.

The GST is a consumption tax imposed on nearly all goods and services in Singapore. Starting Jan. 1, 2023, GST will be imposed on imported low-value goods valued up to S$400. Currently, only imported goods valued above S$400 are subjected to the GST. With the change, all goods and services imported into Singapore, including imported goods purchased online, will be subject to the tax.

The $1.7 trillion federal spending bill includes a change designed to curb the abuse of tax incentives for land conservation.

Federal conservation easements enable property owners to take a charitable deduction when they give up certain rights to develop land. The incentives, which were made permanent by Congress in 2015, help offset the owners’ financial loss for other potential uses for the property.

However, misuse of those deductions has been a persistent problem, whereby groups of investors may obtain inflated land appraisals and receive higher tax deductions.
